We took Maddy to the ocean earlier this month with Paul's parents. It was such a great time. We sort of went off of Maddy's schedule and wants. She would find her basket of beach toys and pick them up and take them to the door of the hotel and make "I want to go to the beach" noise. And we would go to the beach! It was nice more than it was overcast, and that is a big deal on the Washington Coast! Maddy wasn't afraid of the ocean at all but she she eventually got cold so we bundled her back up and she was happy again. We stayed at Pacific Beach which is close to Ocean Shores, which we visited. We also took short day trips to the Olympic National Forest and Westport Winery. Good times! I was very impressed with how quickly Madely adjusted to her new surroundings. A couple nights were rough and we had to run around the town with her in her stroller and then gently walk her up to our room to get her to stay asleep, but overall she did fabulous! She had soooo much fun with her Granny and Grandad too, it is a lot of fun to watch her get to know and love her grandparents more and more as she gets older.
