Just us girls

Our Sleeping Beauty

Paul has now been back to school for a week and a half, and I have to admit I was pretty nervous to be left alone with Madelyn all day. Once she arrived and we figured out how to take care of a newborn (not that hard since they just need to eat, be changed and sleep) I wasn't as nervous. The first week was kind of hard because I wasn't getting alot of sleep. However, the past two nights Madelyn has given me at least one four-hour span of sleep, which feels heavenly. Its fun being with her all day, but its amazing how hard it is to get simple things done, like laundry for instance. Or leaving the house to run an errand. O yea, updating my blog and her pictures is pretty hard to do too (sorry about that) Mainly I like just staring at her as she dreams. She is so beautiful I just can't take my eyes off her.

Last night we went to see Daddy direct his choir, Madelyn's first concert ever! She only made one little cry, but feel back asleep. I have an amazing wrap that snuggles her to my chest, and that keeps her zonked out for a couple hours at a time. Paul announced that his daughter was in the audience for the first time and everyone clapped. I groaned because I didn't want the hoardes of people chasing me down to see her. She is still too new for all those people trying to touch her, especially with the germs that are out there. (Yes, I am an over-protective mommy, can you blame me?) Anyway, the choir sang Homeward Bound and it was beautiful. It is one of our favorite songs, the words are beautiful. I am so glad I brought the camcorder so I could get it taped. We are working on making videos available on here, so once I do, I will put the clip up so you can hear it.

OK, Madelyn is probably going to wake up any second, better go!

Cute sleepy babe! And Homeward Bound is my all-time favorite choir song. Nice choice, Paul!

It's amazing how one little person can consume your day so much! But it is WAY too much fun just watching them and playing with them! Isn't it hard to remember your life before the baby? And she is SO cute! I can't get over the amount of hair she's got! It's beautiful! Take care! And it's awesome that you use a sling!
