Latest Happenings

Above is a picture of me with my new favoirte coffee mug. My friend Mandy found that for me and gave it to me as a shower gift. You might recognize the mug from the movie "Baby Mama." The first fertility doctor the main character goes to has a mug like this on his desk. Very cute.
So last weekend was a lot of fun. Mo was in town and all the girls went up to the island (Whidbey) for Mo's mom's 60th bday. It was so fun to be with all of them at the same time again. We haven't all been in the same state since my wedding I think. Loads of fun. The next day was my shower, which I will post about later when I get pictures from my mom. I had a blast and was blown away by the craftiness of my friends and how generous everyone was. Thanks guys!
Latest news on Madelyn: She is now 9 weeks from being ready to join us! She is around 16 inches long and 3.3 pounds. (These are all averages from a website that sends me updates). She is super active and now that her space is limited, I can feel specific parts of her body now! The other day I could feel her back pushing against the right side of my tummy, so I ran my hand up my stomach and then it suddenly stopped, so that must have been her little bum :) Also, yesterday she was pushing really hard on my with one of her feet. Usually its a little kick, but this time it was like a pushing against my skin, so i kinda grabbed her foot a little, how crazy! These things are all making it so much more real. Sometimes its still hard to wrap it around my head that my future child is growing inside of me, and that I get to meet her in 2 months!
One more lovely update: being pregnant and having the flu is no fun. Luckily it was only a 24 hr bug. Both Paul and I got sick yesterday and I was feeling pretty terrible. My wonderfully awesome midwife came by (after delivering a baby and staying up all night!) and gave me an IV of fluids to rehydrate me. I was having some sharp pains in my uterus which I guess is my body saying the baby needs more fluids. So, luckily Ann could come and help me out and I didn't have to leave the house and go to the ER. I feel much better now, just really tired and a little nervous to eat too much so it doesn't keep flying back up.
OK, thats all from me for now. When I get pictures from the shower I will put some of them up.
