Pretty cool! I get a weekly update from Baby Center that tells us what is going on inside of me. So far the baby has all of its organs (though not all functioning yet), it has FINGERNAILS!, its bones are beginning to harden and it has toothbuds/gums! Wow. Who knew that at only 2 and a half months our baby would have fingernails, that is just crazy.
So, now that I am not feeling sick anymore, I am in kind of in a weird stage.
I am definitely fitting into some maternity pants now, but I don't feel any different. Sometimes I am like, "O yea, I'm pregnant!" But, I am getting a little more emotional, and thinking about being a mommy and becoming a family with Paul and "baby" is overwhelmingly wonderful. I am so so happy. I am looking forward to our next midwife appointment on October 16th because we get to hear the baby's heartbeat!! It should be going around 160 beats a minute or so. That will be exciting. Then the next big step is our 20 week ultrasound which will happen sometime in December. We will find out the gender then (hopefully) and make sure that the baby is healthy and happy. That will be very wonderful. I think the place we go to uses the extra cool ultrasounds like the 3-D kind, but maybe not till later in the pregnancy. That will be crazy to see the baby's face before its been born!
Right now I am singing with the Dicken's Carolers which is a company that arranges quartets to sing carols at events, homes or businesses in the Northwest. We dress up in the traditional Victorian costumes and sing 70 carols. The hard part is memorizing all 70 carols (some have several verses!) and since I am the song chooser, I have to know the starting pitches of all the songs! I have about 6 weeks before we start performing so I have alot of time, but its a lot to learn, especially for a pregnant lady who is forgetful. Well, I better be getting going. I will try to write more as the weeks go on, but like I said, when I'm not feeling much its hard to be super chatty about the pregnancy at this point besides the fact that we are excited. :)
